Oria Ethical Jewellery

Oria Ethical Jewellery

Tania and SymoneOria Ethical Jewellery was launched in 2007 by creative duo Tania Kowalski and Synnove Saelthun. With a combined 25 years experience in jewellery and design and with a deep passion for ethics, we established Oria as a UK forerunner of ethical jewellery. All of our jewellery is designed and made in our London based studio.

At Oria we are dedicated to making fine jewellery in a socially responsible way. Our designs are a contemporary twist on classic designs, combining symbolism with beauty and great attention to detail.

“…combining symbolism with beauty and great attention to detail.”

Through our love of nature, we became increasingly aware of the harmful impact of modern mining methods on the environment and indigenous peoples. We are dedicated to making beautiful, fine jewellery in a socially and environmentally responsible way. We take the greatest care in sourcing the most ethically produced materials available.

In pursuit of our aims, we support small-scale, fair-trade companies that have good working conditions, pay decent wages and do not engage in the use of child labour. We use metals, diamonds and coloured stones that can be traced from the mine to the consumer.

Wolves, birds, owls & lions feature in our silver collections based on endangered species.
From the playful owl to the edgy lion, the collections have something to suit everyone.
10% of our profits from this collection will go to the IUCN Red List who works to conserve and protect these species.

We take great care to source our materials from ethical suppliers.

  • workers are paid a fair living wage
  • safe working conditions
  • do not use child labour
  • materials are mined with the minimum environmental impact (cyanide & mercury are not used in the extraction of gold and silver)
