Victoria Todd: ‘Aquariums and the natural environment inspire the work I produce creating textures, patterns, reflections and shapes’ The use of silver and enamels enhances the work with the careful application of colour. The attractive patterns created by the waters movement are connected to the surface of her work. Exploring the ripples and patterns of water is a passion as well as exploring the use of colour on the metals surface, be it with enamel or stones.
Becca Williams: ‘I like to play an emphasis on colour, texture and originality’ Bright, seaside memories of a childhood spent roaming beach front towns and cobbled streets inspires this range of miniature silver houses with coloured resin details. They’re a nostalgic view of the past and a charming link to the present, designed to be worn with anything and to grow into a seaside collection of your very own.
Gemma Scully: ‘I’m interested in adding order and structure to my designs’ Gemma creates jewellery inspired by the Chaos Theory, something that has fascinated her for years. The idea that small differences in initial conditions yield widely diverging outcomes. Through a process of hand casting she is able to conduct her own research into this idea. Dropping varying amounts of molten silver and gold into different volumes of snow, ice and water she creates wildly different all one off casting that she then designs around.
Nicola Mather: ‘My designs are often generated from interests in repetition of a single form and extensive experimentation of materials’ She is a jewellery designer maker who specialises in stainless steel structures combined with photo etched silver to create delicate, sculptural jewellery which are functional but unique. By combining forged steel and etched silver using a developed pattern, Nicola intends to mirror the delicate qualities of organic structures whilst adding her own unique style to the jewellery.
Sara Cohen: ‘I found myself trying to push the boundaries to incorporate mixed media within my work, taking me away from the traditional emphasis of using only precious metals. This is the inspiration and driving force behind many of my designs’ The incorporation of silver mesh has developed from her graduation work to become a wearable element in her designs, Sara use of soft furnishing materials juxtaposed with metal merges the elements of precious and non-precious materials in a unique contemporary manner.
Tanya Krackowizer: Her tlk collection is strong, contemporary yet stylish. Her inspiration comes from everywhere including machinery, trees & architecture. She has mixed silver and gold so that they appear on the same pieces together. ‘I think they look beautiful together and I love the idea of a chunky silver ring being upstaged by a very delicate strip of hammered 18ct gold’
