Half Day Class

Half Day Class

Make a Bangle

DETAILS – Half Day Course: 10am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm

Course content

The aims of the course are to give students an insight into the basics of jewellery making in a workshop environment. The course includes instruction on general fabrication techniques for precious metals and a range of hammered surface decoration techniques.

The course is aimed at students with little or no experience. The level of experience affects what each student can achieve in the time, but we aim to ensure that even a beginner will be able to complete a piece of work.

We start by making a basic bangle before deciding on how you would like to make this a personal piece to you. The groups are small and we will demonstrate different techniques as well as helping each person individually.

Techniques covered include:

  • Sawing, shaping with pliers.
  • Annealing and soldering metals.
  • Different hammer & stamping affects

The tutor is always happy to talk to students before the course to ensure that it is suitable for them. Please e-mail direct to: info@atelierjewellers.co.uk or call us on 01983 568 884

Please make sure you wear practical clothing/apron/footwear for use in the workshop at all times. For example: long hair needs to be tied back, no long loose sleeves to catch in machinery or gas flames; shoes should not have high heels or open toes.
